What we collect

  • Your account: email address, the name and @handle you choose, and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • What you add: videos, VidToks, posts, comments, messages, live streams, playlists and channel details.
  • How you use VidShout: what you watch, like, save and subscribe to, so we can show your history and recommendations.
  • Basic technical information such as your browser and IP address, used to keep the service running and safe.

Signing in with Google, Facebook, Apple or TikTok

If you choose “Continue with Google”, “Continue with Facebook” or “Continue with Apple”, we ask that service only for your email address and an account number that identifies you to us. With “Continue with TikTok” we only use the account number TikTok gives us; TikTok doesn't share your email, so you type it and confirm it with a code. We don't store your profile picture, your name, your friends, your videos or your posts from any of these services, and we never post anything for you. You choose your VidShout name and @handle yourself. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email”, we only see the private relay address Apple gives us.

How we use it

To run your account, show your content to the people you share it with, send emails you need (sign-up codes, password resets, invites and channel decisions), keep VidShout safe from abuse, and improve the service. We don't sell your personal information.

Who else handles it

We use trusted providers to run VidShout: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Cloudflare (video, live streaming and network), and Resend (email). They process data only to provide their service to us.

Your choices

You can edit your profile in Settings, delete your videos and posts at any time, clear your watch history, and turn VidTok and VidPost off for yourself.

Deleting your account and data

You can ask us to delete your VidShout account and everything linked to it (videos, posts, comments, messages, history, and any Google, Facebook, Apple or TikTok sign-in link). We do it within 30 days and email you when it's done.

Sign in and come back to this page to ask for deletion. If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove VidShout in Facebook under Settings → Apps and websites.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you on VidShout before the change takes effect.
